Båtbuss - in english
This summer you can travel with our popular Boat Buses from June 9 to August 31. On this page you will find maps, timetables and travel tips.

This year's boat bus season starts on June 9th and runs until August 31st.
The boat buses, with their eight lines, operate trips to and within Karlstad, Hammarö and Kristinehamn and are part of Värmlandstrafik's public transport. Once again this year, the Boat Bus stop at Inre Hamn in Karlstad serves as the central hub for all Boat Bus traffic. From there, the boats take you to summer gems and stops along the Klarälven River and the Vänern archipelago.

Low Water Levels = Flexible Route for Boat Bus Line 92
Right now, the water level in the Klarälven River is unusually low. Because of this, we may need to adjust the route for Line 92 on a day-to-day basis. This could mean the boat takes a different path than originally planned. Either way, we’ll still offer a beautiful guided tour on the Klarälven River through Karlstad all summer long!

Questions and answers
Can I travel if I use a wheelchair?
Line 93
On line 93, which runs from the Inner Harbour in Karlstad out to Västra Långholmen, among other places, you can travel on board with both mobility aids and wheelchairs. The boat has a stair lift. At Västra Långholmen there is then an accessible footbridge over to the southern side of the island. Two- or three-wheeled electric mopeds or scooters with handlebars, so-called walking scooters, are advised to travel on line 93. It is fine to bring folding wheelchairs, electric wheelchairs, etc.
Lines 90, 91 and 94
These boats have stairs down into the boats, and the staff will put out rails if a wheelchair is going to get into the boat. The width of the wheelchair determines whether it is possible to get down the stairs or not. If you want to travel with one of these lines, we recommend that you visit the boats at Inre hamn in Karlstad and check with the boat staff on site what opportunities there are to travel. Of course, we want as many people as possible to take a trip with the Båtbussarna, and we have had wheelchairs on board the wooden boats in Karlstad in previous years. Unfortunately, it is not possible to take mobility scooters or electric mopeds on lines 90, 91 and 94, but in that case we refer you to travel with line 93 towards Västra Långholmen. For more information about the different boats and what they look like, we refer you to the shipping company Skeppa Rederi AB, which operates the traffic on our behalf. You can read more at Skeppa.se. It is okay to bring foldable wheelchairs/rollators if space permits.
Line 92, guided tours

The width of the wheelchair determines whether it is possible to get down the stairs or not. If you want to travel on one of these lines, we recommend that you contact Skeppa Rederi, which operates the boats on behalf of Värmlandstrafik, to check what opportunities there are to travel. You can read more at Skeppa.se. Of course, we want as many people as possible to take a trip with the Båtbussarna. It is okay to bring foldable wheelchairs/rollators if space permits.
Line 97
Unfortunately, wheelchairs/mobiles cannot be taken on board on line 97. However, it is possible to take on board foldable wheelchairs/rollators.

Can I bring my bike or stroller/cart?
It is possible to bring a bicycle or stroller, subject to space availability. With the exception of line 92, guided tours, the line unfortunately cannot take strollers on board. Children should not be in the stroller when it is taken on board.
NOTE! We do not take bicycles on line 92 and line 96.
Is there coffee on board?
Snacks and light refreshments are available for purchase on board, although not on line 97. It is also possible to bring your own coffee on the boats.
Can I borrow a life jacket on board when I go?
In case of an emergency, life jackets are available on all our boats. They are not available for loan during the trip.
The fire station in Karlstad rents out life jackets in all sizes for 10 kronor per vest per day. For more information, visit the fire station's website.
Can my pet come with me on the boat?
Pets such as dogs or cats are welcome on all our boats free of charge, subject to space and as long as it does not cause discomfort to fellow passengers. Furry animals are placed in a designated place after consultation with the boat staff. This is to take into account allergy sufferers and the animal should sit on the floor for everyone's comfort.
Is there a toilet on board?
There are toilets on board on lines 93, 96 and 99. The remaining lines do not have toilets on board.
I have forgotten something on the boat, where do I turn?
If you have traveled with the Båtbussarna and forgotten something, you can either talk to the boat staff on the boat in question or contact Skeppa Rederi AB (skeppa.se).
